A MESSAGE FROM OUR SENCO

Dear parents and carers,

I am the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) for Impact Independent School and I have worked here since September 2015.

I oversee the day to day operation of the school’s SEND policy, supporting students with special educational needs and co-ordinating provision for students with SEND.

If you ever need to talk to me I can be contacted via the school office, or the contact form, and we can arrange a meeting to discuss how your child is getting on at Impact or have a chat about any concerns or queries you may have.

LOCAL OFFER

What is a local offer?

The SEND (Disability & Special Educational Needs) Local Offer provides information in a single place and helps children, young people and their parents/carers to understand what services and support they can expect from a range of local agencies - including their statutory entitlements, education, health and social care.

The SEND Code of Practice states that the Local Offer has two key purposes:

  • To provide clear, comprehensive, accessible and up-to-date information about the available provision and how to access it

  • To make provision more responsive to local needs and aspirations by directly involving disabled children and those with SEN and their parents, and disabled young people and those with SEN, and service providers in its development and review
